Good morning, my dear students：
亲爱的同学们，大家早上好：
I have to say again that I am so happy to see you, but this is never a perfunctory word.
还要告诉大家，能遇到你们是件非常高兴的事。而且这绝对不是一句敷衍的话。
I have ever stayed in many countries, but I have to admit that Chinese students are the most excellent ones, from the aspects of morality, behaviors, and education.
我曾经在很多国家呆过，但是中国的学生是我见过最优秀的，无论从道德，行为举止还是教养方面来说。
Today I would like to share a story with you to show what I have experienced in the past years in China.
首先我想和大家分享一个我在中国亲眼见到的例子。
When I was staying in Chenggong yucai, the headmaster happened to invite a student to have intercommunion with the students.
去年我呆在呈贡校区期间，一天碰巧遇到校长请一个外校的学生来做交流会，我参加了。
By the time I saw him I was totally astonished to find that he was handicapped- he lost his arms.
我见到那个学生时，完全惊呆了—他是个没有双臂的残疾人。
When he started his speech, I was shocked again by his fluent and perfect oral English.
交流会开始之后，我又一次被他流利近乎完美的英语所震惊。
By that time I knew that he was No.
那时候，我才知道，他是当年的一个县的高考状元，也正是出于这个原因，呈贡育才的校长邀请他去做交流会。
Dear students, he is one of the most excellent examples in China.
同学们，他是千万中国学子里优秀的代表之一。
He is handicapped, while still he can make such gorgeous achievement.
虽然失去双臂，但是他克服了身体上的缺陷，仍然努力取得状元的成绩。
From him, I saw the strong determination and industriousness of Chinese students.
从他身上，我看到中国学生身上的坚强的毅力和勤奋精神。
You may say that there are such successful students abroad.
你们可能会觉得这是个特例，在外国也会有这样优秀的学生啊。
Indeed, but still I know many other Chinese, among whom there are post graduates, university professors, and successful business men. I admire their perfect English, their intelligence and industriousness.
但我还认识其他中国人，他们中有研究生，大学教授和很成功的商人。我一样欣赏他们完美的英语，欣赏他们的勤劳和智慧。
As Chinese, you all have all the qualities they have. You are as intelligent as them. So just be determined.
同样作为中国人，我相信你们有着他们身上所有的优秀品质。所以，只要肯努力，你们会和他们一样成功。
One day, when I was walking in the campus, I noticed the deal apples fallen from the trees. They lie there quietly, without being noticed by anyone no matter where they lie.
一天在校园里散步时，我看到了树上掉下来的松果。他们默默无闻地躺在地上，无人问津。无论是长在校园里也好，山涧也罢。
They are born to be there. But it reminds me of life. Each of us looks ordinary in our life.
他们生而这样平凡。但这让我想到了人生：我们大家一眼看上去都一样。
We are born without any choice, but we are not born to be so ordinary.
我们的出生是没有选择的。但是，我们并不是注定要平庸一生。
And life is distinguished by high and low quality, valuable or not. We should make every effort to make our life different.
生活又有着好坏和有意义无意义之分。所以，我们大家都应该努力，让自己的人生有所不同，有所成就。
Your ambition will be the lighthouse in your life.
所以，我们需要梦想，它是我们生活中的灯塔。
Give yourself a daily goal, a weekly goal, a monthly goal…with the daily progress you achieve, you will finally find your big progress one day.
每天给自己定一个目标，然后逐月，逐年给自己目标。每天进步一点点，积少成多，有一天你会发现你的大进步。
The world outside is broad and colorful. Prepare yourself well and when chance comes, you will be the examples I listed above.
外面的天地很宽广，很精彩。做好准备，当时机成熟时，你们也可以成为我上面提到的优秀榜样。
My students, you are lucky to study in this school, with advanced management, experienced and considerate teachers. You have all the armaments the students I mentioned just now did not have.
各位同学，你们能到这里上学很幸运。因为这里有着系统优秀的管理，有经验丰富体贴入微的教师。你们有着上面我提到的学生所没有的各种学习资源。
He can be that successful, so you will have no excuse to be idle, be lazy or be behind.
他能如此成功，你们就更没有理由虚度光阴，或是散漫落后。
Remember, every one is born to win with his unique characteristic. Every one of you is unique in my eyes.
请记住，每个人都是唯一的，你们有着别人没有的优点。在我眼里，你们也都是独一无二的。
Keep your goal, and strive for it day by day. I am looking forward to your success. All your teachers and I love you. We are ready to give you any help you need.
谨记你们的目标，每天向它靠近一点。我期待着你们的成功。我和所有的老师都愿意尽我们所能帮助你们。
